so let's do a quick exercise -
Close your eyes and imagine yourself a year from now.
Imagine that a year from now, you're doing everything you love and you're fulfilled and at peace with yourself and your life.
Ok. Now, what if I told you, you can start living this reality right now?
No really!
We can't control every situation we encounter, but we have a lot of control over how we let those things affect our actions and our reactions.
Just think how your life would be different if you knew how to expertly set boundaries. And not only to set them but to uphold them as well.
Here’s what you’ll learn in this video:
Establishing Responsibility
Remove Excuses
Setting A Firm Foundation
There are so many reasons to establish boundaries in our lives. If you're feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or like you are being taken advantage of, having clear boundaries can help you feel more in control of your life and the things happening in it.
Boundaries are also instrumental in how we allow others to treat us so putting boundaries in place ensures that those people treat us with respect, and we are less stressed and frustrated in these relationships. When we set boundaries, we're letting others know how we want to be treated. When we establish boundaries we are establishing trustworthiness – we are being honest with those around us, about what we are comfortable with and what we are not willing to tolerate.
A boundary can be any limit you set to protect yourself. If you're feeling unappreciated, taken advantage of, and overwhelmed, all of this can be shifted with the right boundaries in our lives. We want to start by having a good foundation so we can set and enforce boundaries effectively. These guidelines can help us avoid common pitfalls and establish clear responsibilities for everyone involved.
Let me reiterate, establishing boundaries is a key part of having a healthy and fulfilling life. This builds a strong foundation for our future and those around us.
